On April 30th, the highly anticipated MTV Japan announced their nominees for the MTV Video Music Aid Japan Awards 2011. Girls’ Generation’s debut Japanese single, Genie, received three nominations: Best Group Video, Best Video of the Year, and Best Karaokee! Song.

This year, the event will take place on the 25th of June, 6 PM at the Mukuhari Messe in Chiba. Due to the recent natural disasters in Japan, the event this year has been renamed to MTV Video Music Aid Japan. Proceeds of the event will go to the Japanese Red Cross.

The event will be hosted by AKB48 and will include performances of stars from all around the world such as Lady Gaga and Exile.
