It’s really odd to me why SM chooses to focus GG on Japan alone, and not just for the idea that they’re really popular there or that it gives them more revenue. I was already quite disapointed with the idea of GG’s world tour, though I’m not particularly disappointed in the girls, it’s really their management that gets on my nerves. Maybe they’re reserving GG for other countries depending on their popularity? I don’t really know, but as far as I’m concerned, I’m pretty sure they’re very popular on most known places.
However, within the idea of releasing an English album, I am honestly a bit dubious about it. I don’t doubt the girls, but I think that from how they’re standing, it’ll be really, and I mean really hard to break into the US market. I like GG the way they are right now. Though I suppose as always, maybe SM’s trying to stir something really special for GG. I mean looking at how their group’s status is, it’ll be really a huge attention catcher once they move onto a different and more mature (and I don’t mean over the top sexy, please no), and more versatile concept. I’m pretty sure the girls’ will be able to pull it off. They’re really on the top and it feels like if one of them lifts a finger or something, people are bound to notice.
Still waiting for more awesome things from all 9 ladies, though. Though after all the concerts and whatnot, they’ll surely need and deserve a break.
They should release in the worldwide market then. Over-the-top sexy videos are becoming tiresome in the UK, with Miley Cyrus hardly ever being played on the radio, and I think that a girls group that doesn’t act over-the-top sexy in their music videos could do really well in the UK.
Pretty sure there will be dates added since I don’t see Tokyo/Yokohama on the list, and they would be dumb not to do a concert or 2 in a city that has the population of 35 million
Just asking …. What if an international SONE want to see the concert in Japan ? Did SM open their web, smtravel again ?
It is important to keep in mind that there is a slim possibility that they could release and English or Korean album early in 2014 before they do the 3rd Japan Tour in April. Last year they released I Got A boy on New Years Eve and then they did a their 2nd Japan Tour starting in February. That is only about a month between album release and concert tour. They could potentially release an English or Korean Album in January, February or even March 2014.
Japan SONEs is soo Lucky. ~♥
So Asia is the new World now. I don’t think they’ll be having concerts in the US and Europe since they already had told their initial concert on 2014 will be in an Asian country. There’s not much time for the countries outside Asia if the 3rd Japan tour was set to start on April next year.
somebody answer me please…did taeyeon say in a comment on instagram that they are preparing for end of the year concerts and comeback?? I hope she did…cause they are focusing on Japan too much :(
Yes, she did say that. SNSD is getting ready for the Marchen Fantasy concert during the SM Week in December. And by “comeback”, people are saying she meant a Korean comeback, probably in early 2014.
Ugh…I’m just gonna live in Japan instead
my thoughts exactly! hahah
– The sad truth is if they do a concert in North America the best case situation is that they will do SMTown concert just to maximize their profits if they don’t completely sold out the venue where ever they decided to hold the solo concert just for SNSD.
-Whether they are ready or not to enter the North American market head on is hard to say. But SM Company wouldn’t want to risk something that is not in their favor. They might review their own experience of previous artists/groups from korea or other asia countries trying to enter the North America market and failed. I am sure there are at least one Asian artist that did well but I can’t think of any on top of my head.
-So they will continue to tour countries where they for sure make max profits without the huge lost. So whats the point of calling the “SNSD 2013 WORLD TOUR” if they not visiting North America or Europe. I hope they won’t false advertise and visit those continents soon or later.
there was a photo of taeyeon on instagram in a practice room, maybe there will be a Korean comeback soon but if so,they are gonna be incredibly busy
Seriously?? It seems like they’re in haste to me… Be careful SM, when you try to juggle with more than you can cope. I hope the girls can take a break in between schedules and all. My 2 cents’ worth…
While I always excited with everything about our girls, I do think that they focused about Japan too much. Don’t get me wrong, I like their new Japanese songs, especially Galaxy Supernova, but I really think they should do Korean comeback… And also, if they want to do English album, I think the moment is quite righy, with their recent winning in YTMA. People talked about it and become curious because they can beat other famous USA artists. So, they could release some English songs to answer that curiosity. But, alas, I’m still excited to see their Japanese concert, because their concert has always been spectacular. Jigeumeum, SNSD!!!
Yeh your right they’re focusing on Japan too much. I also think that they should engage with more activities overseas. Also, I’m thinking, about why did they call it GG WORLD Tour if they’re only having concerts here in the Asia?
Wow. I want to be happy but….these girls have been going non stop since the first of this year! Promotions for the new album, then Japanese tour, dramas, world tour, award shows, individual activities….I am torn between being happy that that are so busy and being sad that they haven’t had much of a chance to rest.
Really? I want a Korean comeback! I don’t think the girls have enough energy to do ANOTHER Japanese tour! They’re going to be exhausted…
Really SM? Instead of giving the origin country of SNSD with the largest fanbase another album which they have been waiting a year for or finally reentering the world market for all the international sones who have been waiting for years now, you give us more Japanese stuff? Not impressed. Is South Korea and the rest of the world not important to SNSD now? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for their expansion in Japan, I just wish they wouldn’t devote all their time to Japan, and show the rest of the world some love.
They probably have at least as many or more more Japanese fans than Korean fans. Just look at album sales. They sell far more albums in Japan than they do in Korea (and each album in Japan is more money because the prices in Japan are expensive). And they make far more money doing concerts in Japan than they do in Korea. Its all about making money
On the other hand, all their most popular songs on the internet are their Korean songs, not their Japanese songs. And they could reach Japan if they just release on the worldwide market, so they would be hitting not only Japan, but Korea, America and Europe at the same time.
Internet/youtube views aren’t sales and don’t bring in money.
Technically, internet/YouTube views do bring in money. Do you know how rich PewDiePie is just by YouTube alone? YouTube brings in money, but no way near as much as actual albums. I just think a worldwide album would be best for fans and for SM, as it would most likely be the best moneymaking choice and would please fans all over the world, as well as exposing people to the group and creating more sones.

Don’t have to “enter” US market to put out an English album. An English album would be a global album not necessarily an American one. Europe, Africa, Central/South America, West/central/south/southeast asia, oceania… would all be served by an english album. Don’t understand why an english album is automatically associated with the USA only. English is the global language used by everybody.
Their World Tour is ongoing. They never said it
Oops, I submit by mistake…
Well, they never said it ended so we should expect more next year probably until March? Since that’s a really long tour in Japan…
Maybe after the concerts in Thailand in January 2014, the girls will make a Korean comeback?
And then, I think, they will resume their world tour in western countries after they are done with Japan tour in 2014.
guys they are only touring their to promote their new album chill world tour means WORLD they’ll hit up everyone eventually im sure
I don’t think their world tour is done can’t be called a world tour if they only do concert in Asia :P but I think 2014 will be very busy…I got a feeling that their Saturdays and Sundays will be filled with concert schedules across the globe
Wow this is really exciting for all of the Japanese SONE! Although I am a little disappointed that the girls are not releasing any Korean or English songs soon that we know of. It seems like with their YTMA award SM would want to continue promoting the girls worldwide. I hope they will still be continuing with their world tour and hopefully come to Europe or the Americas. I was really hoping for more Korean music this year like the rumored SNSD and TTS comebacks. But I don’t want to complain, I look forward to anything from the girls. I am still super excited for their next Japanese album!
Wow! They are really making people outside of Asia wait:
I would have thought they would have tried to capitalize on there win on YTMA with the release of an English language album and tour of America earlier next year. Now I’m not even sure they are going to release an English language album at all next year;(
I’ve been going over GG’s past history when they released the Japanese versions Genie and Gee followed by Mr Taxi and Run Devil Run in Japan and how successful that was at launching them into Japan and I know if they did something similar in America with English Language versions of some of their song and few new songs that they could become huge there as well.
I feel like we are just waiting for someone at SM/Universal/Interscope to get off there collective ass’ and get things moving.
Actually, there was a recent interview with SM staff who said something like they were no longer interested in entering the US market per se. They kinda sounded like they will just release an English album on worldwide level.
But then Tiffany said in a short interview with Korean media after winning YTMA, that they currently had no plan of making an English album.
@glider003 Tiffany did mention recently and indirectly an English Language version of I Got A Boy and there have been other mentions of an English version of I Got A Boy single and album it would seem that the timing would right for them to release such a single and Album sooner rather than later.
I feel like they have been planning an English language Album ever since they released I Got A Boy but they keep delaying it. I feel like the original plan was to release it at the end of this year, but for what ever reason they have brought in another Japanese Album and concert Tour. Maybe there has been some kind of hold up with the American part of the world Tour.
My concern is that after they finish their Japanese Tour they will release a TTS album or another Korean album and with all the other things the girls are doing that will be the end of 2014 and still no English album and huge missed opportunity.
I feel like if they continue to just go back and forth between Korean and Japanese albums their popularity is going to slowly drop off ant they will have to continue show a teen k-pop image but if they release an English Language album their popularity could continue to get bigger and bigger and I think a more mature Girls’ Generation could be hugely successful outside of Asia.
why SM don’t give our girls a dome :( and what about their world tour they are still only in asia
Does this means their world tour is over?or is it like an in between tour?
Maybe they will have more of the world tour concerts till March in Asia and after their Japan Tour, they will resume the world tour in western countries.
whoahh already busy schedule for snsd starting next month. I just hope they are in good and fit condition. Take good care of yourselves girls.
Wow… Japan again!?? Japan SONEs is soo lucky. But i guess they spent so much money each year because of the tour…. But I wish the girls expand the tour to other continent, America and Europe, not just Asia. But well, its not like i’m complaining a lot since the girls already come to my country (Indonesia), but i wish i can share the same happiness to American or European SONEs..
Hopefully, after they are done with the Japan Tour, the girls will be resuming the world tour in western countries.
