Fans of Girls’ Generation have always been drawn to Yuri for many reasons: from her lovable personality, to her amazing sense of humor, to her dancing, Yuri always finds ways to make fans fall in love with her more and more. However, while Yuri is naturally gifted in all of these aspects, it’s clear that one of her most admirable traits is her silent hard-working ethic.

Though Yuri might be known amongst fans and members alike as a slow learner, she never lets it faze her. With endless practice, her dancing is undeniably on point, and she tries extremely hard with her vocals. Her perseverance has paid off, starting with her first drama appearance on KBS2’s “Unstoppable Marriage”. Since then, her continued improvements got her a main role in “Fashion King”, and eventually landed her a part in her most recent movie, “No Breathing”, in which she was a main character and able to show off her acting skills as well as a singing solo. And this is just one of many instances that show what Yuri can truly accomplish.

Yuri will always put on a show for SONEs, her infectious kkab attitude shining through in performances and on television. Off-stage, Yuri shows kindness to fans like few others can, holding late-night chat sessions with her “owls”, sharing photos of herself and her dog through both Instagram and Weibo, playing music for fans who came to see her during the “No Breathing” filming, and even visiting the “Yuri Place” (an exhibition made by fans for all things Yuri to celebrate her birthday) in person.

Most importantly, she never fails to tries her best, regardless of the situation. Sometimes, she may let her emotions get the better of her, but it just proves how much she cares. She’s a loyal member, immensely proud to be able to represent Girls’ Generation, and a good role model to her fans, always seeking to better herself and improve in every way possible. For example, even with her busy life as one member of South Korea’s national girl group and a hectic schedule whilst filming a movie or drama, she doesn’t disregard her education, entering Chung-Ang University with Sooyoung in order to pursue a higher degree.

Seven years after her debut, Yuri is still working hard to fulfill her ambitions. Many consider her to already be at the top, but she always sees room to reach higher, to climb further. Whether it’s through performing on stage or on screen, we know that she will be undoubtedly giving it, giving us, her best—and the next time around, we know that she’ll be able to do even better. As fans, we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the girl we’re so proud of: the irreproachable Kwon Yuri. We wish her a very happy birthday.
