I don’t know who manages this page, but someone should update the fact that there’s only the version with the folded poster, not the one rolled in a tube anymore. Reason being is that I got an email from Yesasia a couple days ago stating that the suppliers changed the package to only having the poster packed together with the DVD set.
Now onto the DVD itself: it’s great we get another DVD concert set, but sadly 2 years later we just get the 2013 concert tour….. It’s somewhat disappointing that it’s also released months after that you-know-what (unfortunate) event back in Sept.-Oct. Oh well, at least it’s probably the last official release that has all 9 of them together, but after the release of their Best Tour in Japan, that’ll change in a flash.
same old same old with SM. i believe they did something like this with Soshi 1st tour, when it was release like couple yrs after. anyway i’ll get this when i have the money, cause it’s another treasure to be added to my other Soshi treasures.
This has nothing to do with dvd but i’m so happy that SNSD is going back here in the Philippines with SUJU and RV on april 10! YES YES YES! SOSHI JANG!!!! :)
I should think that it’s not just English speaking fans who are feeling snubbed. This DVD is being released just 2 months shy of 2 years after the concert. In the meantime, all SNSD has done in Korea is one mini-album, and one TTS min-album with 2 very short promotions for each. Meanwhile, in Japan, SNSD has held their 3rd tour, released a full length album, and 2 versions of their record-breaking ‘The Best’ album, and Tokyo Dome(the Blue-ray of which will be released the day after this DVD). Of course this Japan first strategy seems to have paid off for them as they were virtually tied (with Exo) as the highest earning performers in Korea last year.
I agree with you 100%. Korean fans have definitely been getting the short end of the stick for a while now, with their concerts feeling like recycled Japanese concerts, though there has always been a longer delay in releasing Korean concerts on DVD, compared to Japanese DVD and Blu-ray releases. Also they never did a concert tour after Mr. Mr. following the 3rd Japan Tour (though I suspect Jessica leaving was the main reason for that), though they could have also done a concert or tour for TTS. It doesn’t help that Girls’ Generation releases numerous Japanese singles and special edition CDs and Blu-rays each year, compared to one single and album per year in Korea. There is so much video footage of the girls activities in Korea it would be nice if they released another DVD (or Blu-ray ) like All About Girls’ Generation: Paradise in Phuket, maybe release a music video collection or best of or remix album (throw the fans a bone SM).
the only SNSD (solo) DVD, that i remember, that has English subtitles, is the “Paradise in Phuket DVD”. i’m sure the DVDs will still sell, fans will still buy them, but it would be really nice if the fans (from the rest of the world) can actually understand and benefit from having English subtitles. i’m bilingual in Eng/Chinese, so i am thankful for the chinese subs.
I’ll definitely be buying this but I’m disappointed that they never released their Korean concerts on Blu-ray and I don’t understand why they are no longer putting English subtitle their DVDs? It’s like they have no interest in attracting or even retaining their English speaking fans (I don’t get it)?
SNSD’s (korean) concert DVDs have always been just korean, japanese and chinese subtitles. I have both the 1st concert dvd (into the new world) and the 2nd concert dvd (Asia tour). so I do not understand what you mean by “no longer putting English subs”.
but I do hope the production team does consider putting in English subtitles in future. :)
While I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen English subtitles before on an SNSD solo DVD, I think a good argument for them is they already attracted so many fans without putting English subtitles/translations on about 90% of their material, so would it really make a huge difference if they added it? So many fans don’t speak/read any Korean but they still enjoy SNSD, and K-pop in general.
All About Girls’ Generation: Paradise in Phuket (6 DVD set) had English Subtitles so did the DVD that came with their First Photo Book.
All their CD and DVD have English words all over their covers, many Girls’ Generation songs have English word in them and up until recently the group had two American’s in it (three if you include Sunny). I really don’t understand the logic of not including English subtitles, considering how easy it would be to include them. It seems to me that SM Entertainment are intentionally cutting the cord with the English speaking fans and instead focusing on the Chinese fans (which is kind of sad).
Also don’t South Korean’s have HDTVs? Aren’t Samsung and LG from South Korea? I think it is about time SM Entertainment started releasing Blu-rays in Korea. All Girls’ Generation’s concerts and music videos are available on Blu-ray in Japan (come on SM). Knowing my luck SM will probably release a nine Blu-ray set of all things Girls’ Generation and it won’t have English subtitles (and Soshified won’t sub them). I guess I will have to just lookout for the subtitles on YouTube:(
Right, AAGG and the Tokyo photobook had English subtitles, but none of the concert DVD’s had them, correct? Then this not having them is nothing new.
I for whatever reason when I saw the subtitles listed as Korean, Japanese, and Chinese felt that English speaking fans were being ignored, but you are right none of their concerts have come with English subtitles.
