Yeah, I think if the cartoonist didn't draw the "5 bad copies, a dot", it wouldn't be so controversial, since everybody has their favourite members. I think I'm angry the most with the "dot".... lol.
But yeah, this guy's probably not a huge snsd fan >.>

There doesn't seem to be anything so offensive with this comic. I find it funny. I thought the translation was "non-existent copies", instead of "bad copies". To anyone who isn't a fan, they only see 9 girls who all look the same. At least 3 of them stood out to him. 3/9! Just 6 more to go.

Exactly. I think that who made translation "5 bad copies" wanted to heat up the discussion and make more controversy about this cartoon which basically was nothing. I do not know Korean much, but I checked in an online dictionary and "5 무존재 인방" could be more like "5 having no existence". That poor guy just wanted to say that 5 members do not exist yet because he can distinguish only 3 of them and he can not even count them properly. I can understand the confusion of an ahjussi when suddenly a big bunch of cheerful girls are in front of his eyes doing dance moves and running back and forth so that he can not even know how many there are.

I understand that many SNSD fans are sensitive because of all that has happended and every attempt of humor is believed to be one more load of sh*t to the girs, but please, let's not overreact. Many groups are hated partly because of the behaviour of their fans.

While I didn't find it funny, I am taking it as a non-SNSD fan point of view.
When I was not a fan, I didn't think much about them either (please note that I don't care much for beauties or extremely pretty girls because I am a woman).
But ...... he has somewhat not-so-good sense of beauty. Jessica and Fany cannot be described as bad copies by all standard. bleh. I don't want to shoot him though. It was his personal taste and he didn't actually badmouth our girls for what they didn't do (which would be what I call "disgusting and evil"), so there.

Thanks for the translation. It is good for us to know what was going on out there. Also it is good to hear that the writer apologized. Spare his life, fellow S♡NEs. ^^;;

9 is actually quite a large number for a group and I'm pretty sure anyone who just came across the group would have a hard time differentiating all the members (I know i took like maybe a month before I stopped confusing Yuri, Seohyun and Sooyoung). I doubt the cartoonist had any intention of demeaning the rest of the girls and was just attempting to indirectly poke fun at the large number of members in the group, with the text of "5 bad copies" and the dot just added to emphasize the joke. I guess he wasn't prepared for the reactions of enthusiastic fans who were unable to appreciate the subtlety of his humor...

i remember hearing about this - i think whoever wrote it was being somewhat inconsiderate of the other girls, especially the "copies" but i know better than that so i won't let it get to me
