Very interesting read, thank you for translating!

I think the article touched on many true aspects as to why Taeyeon's so popular. To be honest, when i first noticed SNSD, i didn't know Taeyeon was the leader at all, let alone the most popular (for some reason i thought it was seohyun because she was in the center lol). But this was in their performances, and i didn't really think she was 'THAT' pretty ( except this was during Gee days, and damnnn TY was so pretty during Genie)
But after watching her in variety shows and the girls' shows, she very VERY quickly became one of my fave 3 members. I contribute it all to her dorkiness/personality.

And tbh, i think that when people 'discover' a pretty person through their personality, that person would be more special than ones that are just pretty through their looks. It's the whole package sort of thing?

I have never really thought about it this way before, but they make a great point about her aegyo being genuine.
I think because it's like that I have never thought of it as "aegyo" - usually I think of aegyo as being an act.

Regardless, when she is purposefully acting cute, it is cuteness powerful enough to knock you over, girl or boy. I love it <3

Its a brilliant translation of a very good work. I've never bothered to sit down and ponder why taeyeon is so popular, but i agreed whole heartedly that taeyeon is someone who we can relate to. She's an awesome singer and i think she's gotten credit for being herself. She behaves like a maknae but takes charge when its time for it.
YES I aegyo is awesome, and she posses it.
Therefore I conclude taeyeon is awesome yet realistic.

I'll be honest too, when I first saw ITNW two years ago I was instantly attract to Yuri and YoonA and thought "wow, they're really pretty".
After a year and a half and the arrival of the Gee period, I started following the girls more and more and slowly I became more attached to Taeyeon than other members.
Her DJing skills, he professionalism, 'natural' cuteness and her voice, they add up to make her one of my favorite celebrities ever and, strictly speaking, I rarely ever become attached to celebs.

As a hot-blooded male, I have to say I don't agree with parts of the article, like this bit

I'm a fangirl of taeyeon and I do think she's really cute and pretty .. Well, may b because I'm her fan. Taeyeon has the charm that could make u fall for her and love her as you watch her more and more.. and make you think she's the prettiest.. And I believe Taeyeon has a lot of female fans including "Sunmi of Wonder Girls".
And I think , fangirls look for cute and adorable, friendly personality and attitude in a female celebrity and being most beautiful doesn't matter for them(I do think Taeyeon is one of the prettiest)

Wow, this was nice. It reminded me of English class, and it was SNSD with reading comprehension, so it was interesting.
Unfortunately, I don't really see the view of girls who don't like Taeyeon because I really like Taeyeon and I'm a girl, but I guess my reason is because I'm a Sone, but I think I'll try to think of it in another perspective.

"Some girl that many guys like, especially guys like the one I crush on or someone like that..." Hmm... I guess I see what the girls will think.

Aish, I guess every time I feel this way about a girl, I should always think about how I feel towards Taeyeon: that is, she has a great personality, she's a really great and unique person, and so she doesn't deserve any hatred that may come out of my jealousy. Instead, I hope that I can focus that energy from jealousy to being the best person that I can be.

she's not all girly person.she is down to earth, dorky (in a good way), talkative, funny, cares abt the other ppl, has a leadership quality n skills..all of that is like a big +++++ points..
at first iam attracted with her voice (singing skills) and iam still.. well maybe ppl can find tons of girls like her in the streets in korea, but do they hv a good personality n heart just like her?well i dont think so..even there is a possibility, but i think it's gonna b like 1 in a thousand..
