I'm on the fence about the ad. I think it would be nice to have an ad, but at the same time, it seems so inconsequential when you consider it could be much better used helping actual people. I think it comes down to how much an ad costs. Perhaps there is a compromise in that we don't have to get a full page ad, but something smaller.

@Soy, This is such a good idea. I was wondering what special thing Soshified would plan for my favourite member's birthday, and I am glad to see that you guys have come up with this. It would really help the Haiti victims and I am sure Soo Young will be very very touched by this. Unfortunately I cannot donate via paypal as I don't have a credit card. I will try to get my dad to donate. Thanks again to Soshified and all SONEs who are donating to these victims under Soo Young+Soshified's name. SONEs are really the best people out there.

I did think abt that too.. abt channeling the funds from the ad to the victims instead...But..
There is another chain of thought is that if the amt used in the ad, can show the ppl in Korea that international sones are doing their bit for this disaster. Maybe it will influence more ppl (Sones or not) to step up and donate as well.

Its like organizing a charity Show may cost a lot in terms of broadcasting fees and sponsors.. but if the show is telecast nation wide..the returns might be much larger than collecting donations via a donation box outside a subway station. (Tapping on the power of the media)

(example a $500 ad maybe considered well spent if it can draw in 10 times the amt of donations...)

Anyway I will go with whatever Soy decided but i think GPTX's idea of going "small scale" in terms of the ad size is a good compromise between not having one at all and having a large one.
I dun think a small ad will cost a hefty sum, if its not on the front page...and Feb 10 is on a Wednesday not exactly weekend..so i think ad fees wont be that high.

I totally agree with u. We should help those in haiti!! Advert will be good nonetheless, maybe not too explicit? Can divert more towards those victims of the horrid earthquake.

about the newspaper ad, if we hav the ability to do it, i dont think y not. it would be a great way to celebrate Sooyoung's birthday and to show that we SONEs not only care for our girls but also care for other charities. and i think Sooyoung, as well as the girls, will be proud to know their fans do such good things to support victims of the disaster. however, if the price for the ad is too expensive, then i think we could just take a portion of the $ we plan on to use for the ad and donate it to help ppl in Haiti instead. it's just my opinion ^^
