Staff from the Korean SNSD fansite, DP Soshidang, visited Taeyeon's parents' glasses shop. While talking about this and that, Taeyeon's mother mentioned this.

This is the girl who cried when she saw SNSD's production staff eating on the floor, because there was no room for them to eat at the table with the girls.
Think about that a second. She's the idol, she's the center of attention with the other eight, the ones that are primped and dressed and praised. The one's sitting on the floor, the people that manage the costumes and makeup and schedules, they not glamorous or pretty, just necessary, worker bees so that SNSD can shine.
Everyone has a role to play, to be part of that SM juggernaut, the living breathing entity of SNSD, which as fans we see as only 9 girls, but they can't do what they do without the help of dozens of unsung, behind-the-scenes, staff. Those people aren't meant to step forward. If they're noticed, it's a bad thing. They practice blending into the background, being furniture that supports and helps the girls shine.
But Taeyeon sees people. Unnies and Oppas. Manager oppa, codi unnie, and all the rest. People with years of experience, people that sweat and freeze and go without sleep, people that don't need to look pretty, but still work their butts off. And these people are sitting on the floor, so that the girls can eat at the table. For a good kid like Taeyeon, who appreciates everything these people do, respects them for their wisdom and experience, to see them simply accept their role as bit players, something NOT respected in the eyes of others'... that hurts her. Deeply. SNSD can do what they do, because of the people around them. Like the hundred odd pilots on an aircraft carrier who are supported by five thousand others. Sure, their job might be the hardest, the most pressured, but without the work of others, a mass of unsung, dismissed, silent supporters, they'd be nothing.
Now, turn this around. Spin the camera at the fans. Without the fans, all is for naught. Without their love, their support, spending their precious money, giving their time and attention and energy, the letters, the gifts, the wild cheering and screaming... it's validation for the all the work, both of the nine girls AND their dozens of support staff.
Taeyeon LOVES us. Understand that. Symbiosis, connection, belonging, a relationship of equals. All that silliness with MuBank, the malfunctioning microphone incident, she's outraged, NOT BECAUSE SHE'S ARROGANT, but because of the work everyone around her put in, gone for naught and she felt that she DISAPPOINTED US.
SNSD is the best for so many reasons. This is one of them. Perhaps one of the most important reasons. The girls know the cost, what it takes and they appreciate (this is too weak a word, really) everything that everyone around them does.
